Botox®

Wrinkle-relaxing injections are the treatments commonly known as BOTOX®. This is a popular treatment for both deep and superficial wrinkles. These injections have been used to treat wrinkles since the late 1980s and have an excellent safety profile, predictable and quick results, and virtually no recovery time.

How the treatment works

Aging leads to changes in skin elasticity and collagen, particularly affecting the smoothness of the surface. Wrinkles, caused by muscles in the face as they contract, become more long-lasting and deepset as we age. This means that even when the face is relaxed wrinkles are evident. Injections of the purified form of botulinum toxin (BOTOX® or DYSPORT®) relax the muscles and reduce the signs of existing wrinkles whilst also helping to prevent the formation of new wrinkles.

Tailored treatment

Each treatment is tailored and administered personally by a trained Consultant Surgeon after a full consultation and face mapping. This means that only specific muscles producing specific wrinkles are targeted. Patients retain normal facial expressions – they just have fewer wrinkles.
